The Party of the Hungarian Prime Minister is clearly leading the legislative elections that took place on Sunday, April 3, according to the first partial official results published by the National Electoral Office (NVI).
The “miracle” hoped by the opposition did not take place. The Fidesz, Party of the Hungarian Nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban, comes at the top of the legislative held on Sunday. It reapped 55.75% of the votes, according to the first partial official results published by the National Electoral Office (NVI) on the basis of nearly 60% of the ballots. The coalition of the six opposition parties is credited only by 32.55% of the vote.
Without delay, Viktor Orban claimed Sunday an “exceptional victory” in this ballot. Analysts predicted a stronger battle between the outgoing Prime Minister and his opposition.
The ballot was marked by a participation of 68.7%, a number close to the record four years ago. The full official result will only be known in the weekday, after the count of hundreds of thousands of voter voters from the diaspora and expatriates. But Viktor Orban, in power since 2010, is headless to a fourth consecutive term.
