In response to the outbreak of gas prices, the government had decided to put in place, from November 2021, a “tariff shield”, a gel of the regulated gas rates. But the measure did not apply to the inhabitants of collectively heated condominiums or connected to a heat network (district heating).
Following the mobilization of associations, including co-owners and trustees, it is now done, via a decree signed on April 9, 2022.

To obtain the funds, the trustee must, in the first time, complete the certificate on the honor annexed to the decree of 9 April. Because help is made to individuals, but not to legal persons: a business or a tenant or co-owner company in the building can not benefit from the tariff shield.
This attestation is then sent to the gas supplier, the operator of the collective heating facility or the Urban Heat Network Manager of the condominium. The latter considers the assistance by the calculation formulas indicated in the decree, and then filed the application on behalf of the co-owners with the Service and Payment Agency (ASP), the public institution responsible for repayment. The sums are then donated to the union of co-owners, which will have to distribute them between them, according to the Tantières.
