After the link established between fresh pizzas from the Buitoni brand (Nestlé) and certain cases of contamination at the bacteria Escherichia coli (E. coli) in French children, a new complaint was filed in Perpignan against Buitoni By a woman who fell ill after consuming a pizza in a different range from that already targeted by an investigation, the complainant’s lawyer announced on Thursday May 5, Pierre Debuisson.
“It is a mother who consumed a pizza from the Bella Napoli range on March 27 and was hospitalized on 29 for six days,” said M . “The results of analyzes have revealed the presence of the bacteria Escherichia coli,” he said, as for the previous contaminations linked to the Fresh’Up range, and another bacteria, Shigella.
This 34 -year -old mother, who lives in Perpignan and is “still very tired a month later,” filed a complaint on Wednesday for “involuntary injuries”, said her lawyer. Two days after eating the pizza, the mother felt several symptoms (pain in the lower belly, vomiting and fever) before being hospitalized and placed under morphine. “I have never experienced pain like that,” she said to The BFM channel- TV , which revealed what looks like a new food scandal on Thursday.
“Her husband contacted Buitoni to request the withdrawal of pizza without having a response, and he contacted the food security and health quality service, which simply said it had transmitted information to ARS [Regional Health Agency] “, explains M e Debuisson, already engaged in the defense of several families affected by E. coli.

This complaint occurs a few weeks after the opening of an investigation on March 22 by the Paris prosecutor’s office for “deception on a commodity, exhibition or sale of corrupt or falsified and harmful food products, placing on the market of a product detrimental to health, endangering others, involuntary injuries and involuntary homicides “.
The Fresh’Up range of Buitoni, brand of the Nestlé group, is targeted, while fifty cases of contamination at the bacteria E. coli had been confirmed, some of which are linked to the consumption of pizza bunoni.
The health authorities recall the need to consult a doctor in case of appearance, within ten days after consumption of pizza, diarrhea, abdominal pain or vomiting. The consultation is also essential if, within fifteen days, signs of great fatigue, pallor or a decrease in the volume of urine, which become darker, appear. “In the absence of symptoms within fifteen days of consumption, it is also recalled that there is no need to worry,” said the Directorate General of Health.
