A vigil working at the Qatar Embassy in Paris was killed on Monday, May 23, early in the morning. A 38-year-old suspect was arrested after the facts, learned the France-Presse (AFP) agency from a source close to the investigation and to the Paris prosecutor’s office.
According to this first source, an altercation took place between the two men in front of the embassy, in the 8 e arrondissement, shortly before 7 am. “The circumstances of the death of the vigil are still to be determined precisely,” added the prosecution, according to which “the use of a weapon” by the suspect “is not confirmed”.
At the end of the morning, agents of the scientific and judicial police made observations on the spot, noted an AFP photographer. A security cordon had been set up in front of the main entrance to the embassy, where armed police were also. The Parisian criminal brigade was responsible for the open investigation for voluntary homicide.
