Six associations struggling against homophobia announced in a tribune published in the magazine Stubborn filed complaint against the extreme right candidate to the presidential Eric Zemmour, Wednesday, March 23 in Paris, for “challenge of crime against humanity”, accusing him of denied the deportation of homosexuals during the Second World War.

The associations accuse Mr. Zemmour to have “falsified history to justify his homophobic positions”, and recall that “this is the first time that prosecutions are committed against the reality of the deportation of homosexuals during the Second World War “.

By this complaint, the inter-LGBT associations, Homophobia Stop, SOS homophobia, foam, adheos and quazar aim for a precise phrase of the candidate polemicist in his book published in September, France did not say his last word (Ed . “The deportation in France of homosexuals because of their sexual orientation, as we say today, is a” legend “.”

In this passage of the book, Mr. Zemmour makes at that moment state of disagreement with the former boss of the UMP (ancestor of LR), Jean-François Cope, who had excluded Parliamentary Christian Vanneste of the Party “because of the controversy he had provoked by asserting that the deportation of homosexuals since France was a” legend “.” Eric Zemmour adds: Christian Vanneste “is right”.

“A historical reality” recognized

When the controversy had erupted in 2012, the president of the association of the sons and daughters of Jewish deportes from France, Serge Klarsfeld, had declared that his knowledge, there was no “deported homosexual of France “. “Among the deportees, there were homosexuals but they were deported as Jews, resistant or common rights,” said Klarsfeld.

In their complaint, whose France-Presse agency had awareness, the associations represented by M e Etienne Deshoures say, on the contrary, that “the deportation of homosexuals during the Second World War is a established historical reality “, which has been recognized several times by French leaders, such as the former head of state Jacques Chirac, 2005, or former Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, in 2001.

Based on historical work, they say that “in France, at least 500 men accused of homosexuality were arrested. Among them, at least 200 were deported during the German occupation.” Other more recent works, based in particular on the French archives, among which the homosexual.le.s in France, from the pyre at the death camp (Ed. Tiresias-Michel Reynaud), written by the historian Arnaud Boulligny, support their complaint.

Eric Zemmour has already been judged, and relaxed at first instance, for “challenge of crime against humanity”: he argued that Marshal Petain had “saved” French Jews. The appeal trial was held in January and the decision will be made after the April 10 and 24 presidential election. “I’m not aware of the complaint, I will react when I know the content,” commented Olivier Pardo, Eric Zemmour’s lawyer.
