“I am here at home, so I will not leave,” Lance Inna Koury. Located in the basement of a Mykolav building in southern Ukraine, she decided, with many of her neighbors, to stay in her city, despite the many Russian bombings who devastated many civil infrastructures.
“We make pancakes, bring jam, bring home cans,” says Inna Koury, who was a teacher until the beginning of the Russian offensive. On a table, in this basement, a backgammon game tray allows this small group of Ukrainians to maintain a semblance of normality in their daily lives with the aerial alert sirens.
