Nasser al-Khelaïfi was not in the bright room of the Swiss Federal Criminal Tribunal (TPF) of Bellinzone, Tuesday, March 8, on the second day of his trial on appeal, when Prosecuer Cristina Castellote required against him twenty- Eight months of “Private Penalty of Freedom” for the “Aggravated Unflassial Management Instigation” chief. The President of Paris-Saint-Germain (PSG) and the Qatari Bein Media Group had left, the night before, the chief town of Ticino, as soon as his hearing completed, to rally Madrid, where the Capital Club disputes against the Real, Wednesday, its eighth finals return of Champions League.
Acknowledged in the first instance, in October 2020, the Qatari leader was therefore able to hear the long and relevant indictment of the Crown of the Confederation (MPC) as part of the procedure against him and Jérôme Valcke, the Former French Secretary General of the International Football Federation (FIFA).
The Swiss parquet is asked for prison sentences against Qatari and former number two of the FIFA (thirty-five months of detention required against the latter) without matching them partial stay.
For four hours, the Attorney methodically dismantled the Defense’s arguments while projecting the evidence harvested (email exchanges, correspondence, documents) by the investigators. Standing behind his desk, she recalled that the TPF had estimated in its October 2020 judgment, “it is established that the defendants concluded a corrupt arrangement, notwithstanding their acquittal” in the context of the award, in 2014 , media rights of world cuts 2026 and 2030 to Qataris al-Jazira and bein groups.
“Indus benefits”
For M me Castellote, in return for the granting of these rights, Mr Valcke benefited from Mr. Al-Khelaïfi “Indus benefits of a value understood Between 1.4 million and 2.3 million euros, including “exclusive use without paying rent”, from March 2014 to September 2015, a villa in Sardinia. According to the MPC, it is the leader of the PSG who acquired the Villa Bianca, in 2013, against 5 million euros, via a Qatarie company, Golden Home Real Estate, of which he “was the only shareholder and signatory”.
The Attorney returned to the underside of this “Corruption Pact Sealed October 24, 2013 in Paris” between Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Jérôme Valcke, then taken to the throat financially and eager to acquire the famous villa in Sardinia.
According to M me Castellote, Mr. Valcke first evokes “two options for the financing of the purchase of this villa”, including a salary advance of 5.5 million euros paid by the emirate in the case where French “would be engaged in September 2014” by the Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) fund, led by Mr. Al-Khelaïfi.
