“The time of the business grandpoint is over”: Brigitte Bourguignon, Minister responsible for autonomy, intends to turn the “Orpea Scandal” page triggered by the book of Victor Castanet, the gravediggers (Fayard, 400 pages, 22.90 euros). Showing the Mercantile Drifts of the International Giant of Private EHPAD “does not have to throw the Opproper” on “progress” for five years in favor of seniors, said Tuesday, March 8, before the Commission social affairs of the National Assembly.

M me Bourguignon, come to value his assessment before the deputies, received a welcome all the more favorable as most of the measures she had announced the same morning to stem the drifts of ORPEA – Strengthening controls, transparency and evaluation of EHPAD – coincide with the proposals recommended by the reports that the Commission has examined on 2 and 8 March, fruits of four flash missions to respond to the “shock wave” of the book of Mr. Castanet.

Each report was written by three deputies, belonging to the majority and opposition. The president (LRM) of the Commission Fadila Khattabi (Côte-d’Or), this work tend to show that consensus exists on the urgency of certain measures. The four reports are thus unanimous on the need to strengthen the frequency of EHPAD inspections by Regional Health Agencies (ARS), better information issued to families and residents, an independent external assessment of the quality of the quality of the quality. Encourage vocations

The twelve authors of the reports also propose structural reforms, some more radical than the provisions announced on Tuesday by the Government. Thus, to fight against abuse, “priority priority” must be, according to the four flash missions, the increase in the number of caregivers in the EHPADs. It is urgent to set “a resident career ratio” to double their number at the bedside of the residents, Martèle Caroline Fiat, MP (France’s France) of Meurthe-et-Moselle, a co-rapporteuse of the Flash Mission dedicated “to the new models” EHPAD, conducted with Mapronist MP Véronique Hammerer (Gironde) and the member (Republicans) Isabelle Valentin (Haute-Loire). Fixing a “personal ratio” is also defended by the Flash Mission Rapporteurs on Human Resources Management in EHPAD: Didier Martin, MP (LRM, Côte-d’Or), Cyrille Isaac-Sibille (modem, Rhône) and Marine Brenier (LR, Alpes-Maritimes).
