The COVID-19 epidemic remains active in Guadeloupe. “The positivity rate returns above the alert threshold”, with an incidence rate that “dates back to 521 per 100,000 inhabitants,” said at a press conference, Flornelle Bradamantis, Deputy Director of the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of the island.
Monday and Tuesday, more than 1,400 cases have already been counted, against just over 1,900 the previous week, with a rate of positivity that exceeds 19% over the last two days.
“It is now a matter of reinstating barrier gestures”, a little forgotten during the carnival period, “said M me bradamantis. She also called the population to be vaccinated with the Novavax, more classic vaccine, which “is now available”.
no vaccinal pass
The “vaccinal pass will not apply”, however, specified the prefect, Alexandre Rochattte, at the same press conference.
“We will see according to the evolution of the epidemic if we have to review the application doctrine of the sanitary pass,” added the prefect, stating that “the tests remain free in Guadeloupe until the end of March” and that “the braking measurements”, in particular that of the curfew at 11 pm, remained applied in the territory.
At the last press conference, the authorities had announced an entry into force of the vaccinal pass for the end of March. It is therefore the sanitary pass that will remain in force in Guadeloupe for the weeks to come.
