The first issue is presented LWQT, the option of the LXQT 1.0 user shell version translated to the use of the Wayland protocol instead of x11. Like LXQT, the LWQT project is presented as a lightweight, modular and fast user environment, which holds the methods of classical desktop organization. The project code is written in C ++ using the QT framework and extends under the license
LGPL 2.1.
The first release includes the following components adapted to work surrounded by Wayland (the remaining LXQT components are used without modification):
- LWQT Mutter – Composite Manager based on Mutter.
- LWQT kwindowsystem – Library for working with window systems, transferred from KDE Frameworks 5.92.0.
- LWQT QTWAYLAND – Qt-module with the implementation of components for Qt applications surrounded by Wayland, transferred from Qt 5.15.2.
- LWQT Session – Session Manager.
- LWQT PANEL – Panel.
- LWQT PCMANFM – File Manager.
