The project to implement an administrative detention center (CRA) for foreigners in an irregular situation creates strong tensions among the inhabitants of the Monteil district, in Pessac (Gironde), near Bordeaux (Gironde). Expected in 2024, on a ground of 19,000 square meters belonging to the state, a police type building should replace the current CRA, judged too small, installed in the subsoils of the police station.
In total, 210 border police officers should take place within this new building that will host, for twelve days on average and ninety days maximum, 140 people who have exhausted their recourse to stay in France, before be renewed at the border. To house them, rooms, a dining room, a living room, an infirmary, or an antenna of the judicial court will be installed. Problem: The building will be located in the heart of a suburban area, at the exit 13 of the Bordeaux ring road. And the pessases do not want it.

Implantation solutions not retained
