Ukraine: Why Pro-Russians multiplied false videos of Ukrainian attacks

The cries of the alleged victim suggest that she has undergone a violent injury from the Ukrainian army. A simple stop on image, however, makes it possible to discover that this pain is completely mime. Disinformation turns along the Russo-Ukrainian border, and it is sometimes easy to spot. The Russians and their separatist allies multiply communication campaigns on social networks for several weeks. Their goal is to accuse Kiev of acts of sabotage, and thus to have an implacable pretext to engage a military response.

These “staging”, according to our correspondent in Moscow, Benoît Vitkine, are striking by their “low quality”. It states, however, that these rigged images, intended for the part of the Russian public that undermines itself exclusively through television, are not intended to convince the whole population. It’s about “creating a climate” that would justify a Russian attack in Ukraine.
