The vehicle of a septuagenarian couple was carried away by the waves on a submersible highway road, in Bricqueville-sur-Mer, in the Channel, Sunday, February 20th. His occupants were found dead drowned in the evening, announced the firefighters on Monday.

The 74-year-old man and the 70-year-old woman called the firefighters a little bit before 10 pm, Sunday night, while their vehicle had just been carried away on the departmental road 375 “at the time of the full sea” , according to the same source. Thirty-two firefighters were dispatched on site to rescue them, including aquatic rescuers and divers. An ambulance, all-terrain vehicles and the helicopter of civil security also participated in help.

But night and high tide have made it difficult to locate the immersed vehicle, which has only been located around 11:15 pm by the helicopter. The two occupants were extracted from their car by the divers and then brought to the ground by the rescue canoe. They were both declared dead by the physician of the email structure and resuscitation (SMUR).

Two days after the passage of Eunice, the north of France was confronted on Sunday at the Franklin Storm, which caused significant material damage and left some 12,000 fireplaces without electricity.
