More than 200,000 retired people – spouses and mostly joint farmers – benefit from an increase in their pension since Wednesday, February 9, announced the government.

“Women are the main beneficiaries” of this measure that concerns “spouses” as well as “family aids”, highlights the government In a Communiqué . “They will be more than 120,000 to see their pension increase by 70 euros per month [on average]; 30% of them will benefit from a pension increase greater than 100 euros per month”, is it specified.

The “collaborators” farm operators immediately perceived a retirement pension of 604 euros per month on average, when they had validated 150 quarters, and 307 euros in other cases.

“Strong measure of social justice”

“It was normal for all members of the family who worked on the family exploitation could also benefit from a pension revaluation,” says the Secretary of State for Retreats, Laurent Pietraszewski, cited in the Communiqué.

“It is, in particular, a strong measure of justice towards many women who have worked all their lives alongside their agriculture spouse and the sign of the recognition of the country for their work,” he adds .

This measure is the translation of the final adoption by the Parliament of a revaluation of the small pensions of the “joint employees” of farmers, Scope by the president of the group of the left Democrat and Republican at the National Assembly, André Chassaigne.

In June 2020, Mr. Chassaigne had already obtained a unanimous vote to meet the pensions of the former farm managers at a level of 85% of the net SMIC (instead of 75% before), 1 035 euros. . The first installments had intervened in early December on the bank accounts of the relevant 208,000 retirees.
