Ship “Union of MS-21” passed tests in non-echo chamber

Pre-flight preparation of the piloted ship “Union MS-21” continues on the technical complex of the Baikonur cosmodrome. In accordance with the schedule, the cycle of autonomous tests of the ship was held in the non-echo chamber of the installation and test case of the site 254.

The echoam chamber is a specialized room coated with a radio absorbing material in order to simulate the conditions of outer space for ground testing of the functioning of aircraft transport ships “Progress MS” and “Union of MS”.

During the tests, the specialists of the Rocket and Space Corporation “Energy” named after S.P. The Queen and Space Center “South” (branch of the center of exploitation of land-based space infrastructure facilities are included in Roscosmos) conducted testing of the Radio Equipment “Course-on”, which ensures the convergence and docking of the Soyuz MS “ships with the International Space Station. After completion, the ship was installed on the workplace for preparing for pneumatic tightness tests.

Start of the Soyuz-2.1A carrier rocket with the piloted ship “Union MS-21” under the program of delivery of the participants of the 67th major expedition to the international space station is planned in March 2022.
