Correction of height of ISS orbit transferred to February 8

Correction of the height of the orbit of the International Space Station, previously scheduled for February 6, 2022, was transferred to the ballistic conditions by February 8.

To ensure the correction, engines of the MS-18 Progress Cargo Ship are involved. According to the updated data of the Center for Flight Management TsNIIMASH (part of the state corporation “Roskosmos”), they will be included at 10:56 Moscow time and will work 142.3 seconds.

The purpose of the correction is the formation of ballistic conditions before making the “Union MS-21” transport piloted ship into the orbit (March 18) and the landing of the MS-19 Union (March 30).

At the ISS are now the astronauts of Roscosmos Anton Sluffers and Peter Dubrov, NASA astronauts Mark Wanda Hai, Raja Chari, Tom Marsh and Kayla Barron, as well as Astronaut of the European Space Agency Mattias Maurer.
