The Tom Brady Quarterback, considered the best player in the history of American football, has officially announced his retirement Tuesday 1 February, after having maintained the suspense for several days. “I loved my career in NFL [the North American Professional League], and now it’s time to focus my time and energy with other things that require my attention,” wrote on his Instagram account the 44 year old player, who won seven Super Bowl editions.
In 2020, Tom Brady had left the Patriots, after twenty years of an already sensational route, to join the Buccaneers, then one of the lowest teams of NFL, which had not been qualified for playoffs since 2007. Against all waiting, he led them to the summit, beating Kansas City’s Chiefs, Brady then harvested his seventh title for his tenth final.
In search of an eighth price – prize resets each year to the Super Bowl winners organized by the NFL – and a second with the Buccaneers, he saw his dream collapse last Sunday during the defeat of His team 30-27 against the Rams of Los Angeles, despite an incredible comedback while his team was conducted 27-3 in the third quarter.
Five Times Best Super Bowl player
Brady has been designated five times MVP (best player) of the Super Bowl, three times from the regular season and has, among so many other records, that of the largest number of touchdown passes (624).
A few weeks ago, Brady had said he wanting to “take things from day to day and see where we are”. In his podcast, he had argued, this week, that his choice was not always resilmed at what he wanted but to “what [they want] as a family”. Tom Brady is married to the ex-mannequin Gisele Bündchen and they have two children.
This is for the NFL of the second resounding retirement in a few days, after that Thursday of another legendary quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, twice winner of the Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
