Tokayev posthumously awarded 16 military and police officers for courage

President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev posthumously awarded 16 military personnel and policemen who died during the riots in the country. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Decree of the Head of State.

The document states that 16 people are awarded for courage and dedication, manifested in the performance of military and official debt, as well as for the exploits committed in the protection of the interests of the state. They were posthumously presented to state reports, including the Order “Valor” of the second and third degrees and medals “for courage.”

Earlier on January 9, the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan reported that during the riots in the country, two military were killed, 163 more were injured. This data is inconclusive.
