The representative of the US administration of high rank said that the States would never agree to accept the proposals of Russia, who urge to limit the right of third countries to entry or cooperate in NATO, reports RIA Novosti.
An employee of the White House rated Russian NATO membership proposals by emphasizing that there are some measures that the United States will never accept.
“There are things for which we will never agree. For example, not Russia to decide for other countries, with whom they can be allies, these decisions can be taken only by these countries and the alliance,” he rejected Russian ideas.
The official recalled that in the context of NATO the United States adhere to open doors policies. “… And neither Russia nor some other country will close them,” he concluded.
On December 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia published drafts of the Russian Federation with NATO and the United States on security guarantees in Europe. The document states that Washington should not create military bases in the territories of the former countries of the USSR, which are not part of NATO. The United States also recommended not to use their infrastructure to maintain any military activity, and also called on to refuse to develop with them bilateral military cooperation.
