One month after his proposal to make a primary left for the presidential election, the socialist candidate takes stock. Anne Hidalgo noted, Saturday, January 8th, the failure – “for the moment” – of his approach, pointing in particular the ecologist Yannick Jadot. The latter continues to repeat that he will not participate in a primary.
“This proposal does not have the subject of an agreement, or in all cases of a stolen recovery to move forward”, lamented the mayor of Paris from Jarnac, where she gathered before the grave of former President François Mitterrand (1981-1995).
“I heard the words of Yannick Jadot, and I said, a primary one makes sense only if it serves to have a common candidate, a single candidate and not to add candidatures. Obviously, If in this primary the Greens around Yannick Jadot are not present, it is no longer called a primary, in any case it is not this primary that would allow you to have this unique candidate. I redis: as long as ‘It is possible to organize it, it must be organized, but I hear the refusal – and I regret it – that Yannick Jadot Endose. “
a crumbled left
At three months of the presidential elevator, and off the left, the left remains crumbled between five candidatures – Anne Hidalgo, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Yannick Jadot, Fabien Roussel and Arnaud Montebourg -, to whom we must add the one possible of the Ancient custody of seals Christiane Taubira, who “plans” to present in mid-January and also pleads for a primary. The idea is rejected by Yannick Jadot but also by the candidate of France unsuitable, Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
The Citizen Collective of the People’s Primary organizes, from 27 to 30 January, a “popular investiture”, which will take place with or without the consent of the candidates, with the support of the hundreds of thousands of registrants ( Currently more than 300,000).
“Every time, my political family has been able to federate. It is my responsibility to try the gathering, of course not anyway, not on anything,” pleaded M me HIDALGO Saturday, adding that “in a context in which our country suffers that extremely harmful depolitization for democracy, I proposed that this gathering can be done through a clear, transparent process, before our fellow citizens: a primary by calling the various candidates, at least those who want to govern together, to meet and accept the verdict of an election before the election “.
