Trade unions called on not to bring Russians to protests as in Kazakhstan

The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) called on the Russian authorities attentively refer to the increase in the incomes of residents of the country and indexing pensions. In a statement published on the website of the organization, it is said that inattention to such issues will lead to protests and pogroms, which since the beginning of the year go in Kazakhstan.

According to the authors of the appeal, Russia has the same problems that are characteristic of many countries of the post-Soviet space. Among them are the rise in prices, tax increases, insecurity from judicial arbitrariness of people and enterprises.

To exclude the situation in which during the protests, their participants are robewy offices and shops, ordinary people die in confrontation with security forces, FNPR offered to change the approach to the economy.

In addition to the fight against social inequality, members of the Federation want to gain an increase in the role of trade unions and refusal to appoint officials from ministries. Also proposed greater state intervention in the market economy and the ban on the transfer of key enterprises in foreign property.

President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev in a speech before deputies of Parliament on January 11, called the splicing of large businesses with the state as the cause of protests. He stated that people who were rejected including thanks to the previous president of the Republic of Nursultan Nazarbayev, should start sharing with the people. In addition, the head of state reported that the elected circle of persons used the Development Bank of Kazakhstan as a personal wallet, thereby interfering with the development of small and medium-sized businesses and suppress market competition.
