In Kazakhstan, the national security system, including special services, army and other power structures, will be completely revised and reorganized. This was stated by the President of the Republic of Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, reports RIA Novosti.
According to him, first of all, the leadership of the republic will be carried out by the fundamental reforms of law enforcement agencies. “Strengthen the National Guard quantitatively and qualitatively to form its new divisions in the regions and strengthen the current,” Tokaev said.
He also promised to significantly increase the number of special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to increase their level of combat readiness due to technical re-equipment and raising the salary to employees. “Strengthen the responsibility for the attack on the authorities and the irregularity of the legal requirements,” the head of state added.
In addition, the politician indicated the need to create an army command of special operations forces, increase the efficiency of border units and strengthen intelligence structures. “To implement a set of systemic measures to counter religious extremism, in no case to prevent its splicing with crime,” the president concluded.
Previously, Tokayev reported on cases of desertion among the staff of the National Security Committee (CNB) of Kazakhstan during mass protests that covered the country in early January. He pointed out that often representatives of the special services were handed over the departmental buildings without a fight, challenged documents and weapons when the marauders approach.
