Sweden will strengthen military readiness due to Russian activity in the Baltic Sea and replicates its troops. This was stated by the Lieutenant General of the Armed Forces of the country Leif Michael Classone, reports Ap.
According to the officer, the Scandinavian armed forces recorded the rise in the level of military activity of Russia in the Baltic direction, which “deviates from the ordinary picture.” So, according to the Swedish, the Baltic Sea includes a number of landing floating funds related to the Northern Fleet of the Navy of the Russian Federation.
“We decided to replicate our troops. This does not have to mean strengthening the threat, but we always want to adapt to the current situation. We will act in different places in Sweden in different ways,” said Classone.
Earlier, the Government of Sweden decided to complete his participation in the European Counter-Terrorism Operation Takuba, which was held in Mali, due to the arrival of the soldiers of the private military company (PMC) Wagner. According to the head of the Foreign Ministry of Sweden Ann Linde, the arrival of fighters to help the official authorities is unacceptable, this “will be consequences.”
