Gazprom filed a lawsuit to the Arbitration Court of Special Forces in Stockholm, in which he demanded an increase in the price of a contract for the supply of gas to Poland on the Yamal gas pipeline. This was reported by the Polish State Oil and Gas Company PGNIG (Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe I GazownictWo).
It is noted that the company on January 14, 2022 received the agenda from the lawyers of Gazprom. “The requirement to increase the contract price included in Gazprom’s tender proposal is completely unreasonable. We are ready to prove it before the arbitration court,” said Pavel Maevsky, Chairman of the PGNIG Board.
Gazprom, in turn, requires revision of the contact conditions of December 8, 2017 and November 9, 2020, clarified in the company. PGNIG continues to work on changing the price conditions of natural gas supplies on the Yamal contract.
According to RIA Novosti, Gazprom Export confirmed that he appealed to international arbitration to revise the price of a gas contract with a Polish company.
In November, Poland Prime Minister Mateus Mormetsksky accused Gazprom in the rise in gas prices. In his opinion, “today the price manipulations in the gas market are very expressively visible.” Responsibility for this, as the Prime Minister assumes, carries Gazprom, whose actions led to the increase in gas prices several times.
