Council: reacted to block page of Russian delegation in Facebook

Member of the Council of Russia, Alexey Pushkov responded to blocking on Facebook Pages of the Russian delegation, representing the country on the negotiations on military safety and arms control issues. He considered the censorship from Meta and encouraged to pay compensation to Moscow. His application is published in Telegram-channel.

“Our reaction to censorship by network companies should be at least large, tangible fines,” said Senator, adding that the company should already have Russia about two billion rubles for repeated failure to delete prohibited content.

In addition, Pushkov said that Meta should pay 83 million rubles for other violations (according to him, only 26 million were paid out of them).

The blocking of the account of the Russian delegation became known on January 16, according to some data, this happened after the publication of posts on security guarantees. After blocking, the delegation representatives also appealed to the management of the social network, blocking their page.
