Sent a report on investigation of incident with Ryanair aircraft in Minsk

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) reported that he sent its members to investigate the incident with the Ryanair aircraft, which was urgently landed last year in Minsk due to the mining report, RIA Novosti reports.

“ICAO published its report on establishing facts about the event involving Ryanair FR4978 flight in Belarus,” the organization’s press release says. It is also added that the report was to access all 193 ICAO member states, including 36, which were elected to ICAO Council.

The Council of the Organization during the meeting on January 31 will hold “a formal discussion of any further actions that can be taken by the organization on the basis of the conclusions of the report.”

“On the same day, the Council will also consider the appeal of Belarus regarding the fact that this state considers illegal restrictions or sanctions that have been introduced on the basis of events by other states and the EU,” the press release says.

On May 23, at the airport of Minsk, after reporting an explosive device, the airline Ryanair landed on board, which followed from Athens to Vilnius. For his maintenance raised the MiG-29 fighter. After landing the aircraft, data on mining was not confirmed. On board the airliner was Russian woman Sophia Sapega and the creator of Telegram-channel Nexta Roman Protasevich, who were detained immediately after landing.
