Most Serbs made changes to Constitution

More than 60 percent of the referendum participants in Serbia voted for changes in the country’s constitution. This was stated by the head of state Alexander Vucich, reports RIA Novosti.

According to him, according to the processing of materials from 97.02 percent of polling stations, 39.52 percent of citizens voted against.

“I think that we made a good thing for our country in the matter of democratization, the essential independence of refereeing, an independent prosecutor’s office,” said politician.

In the Constitution of the country, it is planned to make changes in the field of justice to converge the legislation of Serbia with the standards of the European Union (EU). According to the amendments, the High Council of Judges (Air Force) is formed in Serbia. It will include six judges, four lawyers with an experience of at least 10 years who will choose parliament, as well as the Chairman of the Supreme Court. The Air Force will affect judges in all system bodies.
