France and Germany a few months ago were offered to start a conversation with Russia again, but did not receive support from the European Union member countries. This was stated by the French leader Emmanuel Macron, RIA Novosti reports.
The head of the republic expressed regret that the EU state refused to return to the dialogue. “France initiated an active demanding dialogue. Then, together with [the former] Chancellor of Germany [Angela Merkel], we suggested back to demanding dialogue with Russia. We did not follow our colleagues. I regret it,” said Macron, speaking In the European Parliament.
Previously, Macron called the EU response to the Offers of Russia. European security proposals in the region will be published over the next few weeks. The President noted that the EU proposals in stability will be discussed within NATO, and will only then become theme for future diplomatic discussions.
