Berlin’s prosecutor’s office began investigating on the leadership of the German Soyuz-90 / Green Party – the head of the German Foreign Ministry Annala Berbok and Vice Chancellor, the heads of the Ministry of Economy Robert Habeka – in the case of illegal “coronavirus” payments. It is reported by Der Spiegel with reference to own sources.
According to the publication, in 2020, six members of the Green Party illegally received “coronavirus” payments in the amount of 1.5 thousand euros each. Among them – the current FRG Foreign Minister Annala Berbok, Vice-Chancellor, Minister for Economics and Climate Protection Robert Habek and other members of the political association – Ricarda Lang and Jamil Schaefer, Michael Kellner and Mark Urbach.
It is noted that the investigation was initiated on the basis of complaints of individuals who referred to media messages over the past year. At the same time, the question of the payments of Berbble surfaced during the election campaign. Before her election as a candidate for the German Chancellors, in May 2021, she admitted that the party bonuses were not declared as an additional income from 2018 to 2020 and did not report this to the spiker of the Bundestag. It was about 25,220 euros – three Christmas bonuses in the amount of from 6,790 to 9,300 euros and “coronavirus” pay in the amount of 1,500 euros. Then Berbok noted that her “most frustrated” is that she immediately did not report payments.
Berlin Prosecutor’s Office and the Green Party itself confirmed the issuing an investigation.
Previously, the German prosecutor’s office conducted a search at the office of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Ministry of Finance. The raid took place as part of the investigation of the effectiveness of money laundering. The control authority suspected officials in ignoring reports of fraud received from banks. According to the controlling authority, the purpose of the raid was “to find out whether the leadership and responsible persons were involved in the ministry and other supervisory departments in the decision of FIU, and if so, to what extent.”
