Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Russia Yermek Kosherbayev commented on rumors about the distance of the republic from the Russian Federation. His words on Wednesday, January 19, leads RIA Novosti.
He noted that countries are reliable allies and strategic partners. Also Kosherbayev said that rumors about the distance of the two countries are not true.
Earlier, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi recognized the decisive role of the CSTO peacekeepers in the restoration of legality in Kazakhstan. In his opinion, without the interference of Russia and allies, the militants could have a successful attack on Nur-Sultan and carry out a coup.
CSTO forces arrived in Kazakhstan at the request of President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayeva. He turned to the military unit for help because of the mass riots in the republic, with which local security officials could not cope.
