During the exercises with the US Marine Corps in California, 40 Japanese special forces infected the “new strain of coronavirus”. This is reported by Kyodo agency with reference to the land forces of self-defense of Japan.
It is noted that the disease in the special forces proceeds asymptomaticly, the infection has become known after receiving the results of PCR tests. Self-defense forces also transferred that now special forces are isolated on the American military base.
In total, the teachings by the command of the Defense Unit of Remote Islands (located in Sacebo, Nagasaki Prefecture) were sent 190 people. Together with American military, the Japanese worked out the rapid deployment of marine assaults. All of them received the negative results of PCR tests on COVID-19 before leaving Japan.
January 13 became known that the Omicron-strain COVID-19 was distributed throughout Japan. On that day for the first time in four months, the number of infection per day exceeded the figure in 13 thousand cases. The new Omicron strain COVID-19 was found in all 47 prefectures.
