Head of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev appointed a new defense minister. They became the 55-year-old former head of the National Guard of the Republic Ruslan Zhaksylkov. The appropriate disposal appeared on the website of the President.
The previous head of the Murat Bectanov Martial Office, who had previously retained the post during the permutations in the government, was exempt from office. The national guard of Kazakhstan instead of Zhaksylykova will lead his first deputy.
New appointments in the power unit passed separate decrees – this part of the ministerial composition actually remained untouched during the government’s change on January 11. Tokayev, however, has already promised that the army, the special services and the National Guard of Kazakhstan will also be reformed.
