US remain the largest debtor to the UN World Organization budgets, and this creates difficulties for the work of the secretariat. The corresponding message was published on the website of the post procurement of Russia, RIA Novosti reports.
“in the budget sector – against the background of the declared success of the US delegation – would like to pay attention to the fact that this state still remains the largest debtor to the UN budgets,” the Russian mission says in response to the US post procurement issue, in which it was reported “Restoring American Leadership in the UN in the first year of the presidency of Joe Bayden.”
It is noted that tightening the payment and scale of US debt (as a rule, about a billion dollars annually) bring a lot of difficulties in the work of the UN Secretariat.
In addition, Russian postpower states that “unligitimate unilateral sanctions against a number of developing states create obstacles to paying their contributions to the UN and deprive them of the voting rights in the Genasam.”
