The Ministry of Economic Development called the Chinese Asian Bank of Infrastructure Investments (ABIA) to participate in the construction of several Russian megatrass, write “Vedomosti”. Abia is called the Chinese analogue and competitor of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Among the projects in which the ABIA is invited to participate, – the construction of the Meridian route – the Russian part of the international transport route Europe – Western China and the Laying of the Vladivostok Ring Highway. Their cost is estimated at 10 and 1.4 billion dollars, respectively.
Also, a project for the development of electric generation based on renewable energy and solar power plants, the creation of a quarantine-transit terminal on grain transshipment in the Trans-Baikal Territory and the construction of logistics centers, which contribute to the transition of the Amur River in several regions -Kayan border.
The total cost of five projects should be $ 11.8 billion. ABIA is given the role of the creditor, but the specific details are not yet clear. In particular, options for providing bank loans, bond issues, including “green”, in rubles and foreign currency.
In August last year, the Ministry of Economic Development has already been offered China to invest in the implementation of large domestic infrastructure projects. Among them were the construction of a gas processing complex in the area of the Ust-Luga village in the Leningrad Region and the creation of a Russian-Chinese insurance company.
