The Russian Money Transfer System “Golden Crown” faced restrictions in Sweden due to the logo. This is reported by Kommersant.
According to the publication, the branded symbol in this European country was considered heraldic imitation. The corresponding decision was made after the Swedish Patent and Registration Office, registering trademarks on the territory of the country, asked the national archive to check how much the image of the crown in the logo is similar to the royal crown protected by law. “The crown included in the sign is easy to confuse with the guarded by the royal crown on the jumper, and it gives an official character sign,” said there.
In turn, Russian lawyers stated that the position of the Swedish authorities “overly scrupulous”. In addition, human rights defenders did not rule out that the decision was “politically motivated.”
As noted by the chairman of the Board of Directors of the payment system, Nikolai Smirnov, for the service it is extremely important to maintain a logo recognizable by key clients – labor migrants. Currently, the company “Located in a constant dialogue” with the Swedish Patent Registration Office, said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the payment system Nikolai Smirnov.
