Scientists called vitamin D deficiency of one of the frequent causes of insomnia, writes “Moscow Komsomolets”.
They stated that the last randomized double-blind study showed that this vitamin plays an important role in problems with sleep. For eight weeks, specialists watched two groups of people from 20 to 50 years: one of them was given a total of 3,500 international units (IU) vitamin D daily, and the other placebo. As a result, participants in the first group that consumed Vitamin D, significantly improved sleep quality – they began to sleep for an hour longer and feel more rested.
