A jostling in a stadium of Yaoundé, before a match from the African Cup of Nations (CAN) football opposing Monday night Cameroon to the Comoros, made a “half-dozen dead and dozens of wounded” , announced state television.
“A jostling at the entrance of the Olembe stadium” made a “half-dozen deaths and dozens of wounded,” the CRTV announced Cameroonian state television, stating that the authorities and the African football confederation (CAF) “follow the situation of the wounded in the hospitals of the city”.
The Caf, which organizes the flagship competition of the continent, for its part dispatched its Secretary General “at the bedside of the victims admitted in the hospitals of Yaoundé”.
A few minutes after the final whistle of the meeting, won 2 goals 1 by Cameroon against the Comoros, there was no trace of the scramble on the edge of the stadium, noted a journalist from the AFP.
