Ministry of Finance presented new rules for regulating cryptocurrency

The Ministry of Finance of Russia presented the concept of regulation of cryptocurrency in the country. The agency developed a number of new rules that have already arrived at the government’s office, RBC reports.

In particular, the Ministry of Finance suggested carrying out all crypto ops through Russian banks, identify the participants of the transaction, as well as divide customers on qualified and unskilled investors. The agency sent a letter addressed to Dmitry Chernyshenko’s deputy chairman.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance made the cryptocurrency market. Representatives of the department announced the need to control this sphere, and not prohibit it. This statement was made by the Director of the Financial Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance Ivan Chebeskov at the conference “Cryptoacivals: What did you want to know about regulation, but they were afraid to ask.”

On January 20, the Central Bank suggested banning cryptocurrencies in Russia. The regulator explained to such initiative risks that are associated with such assets. The Central Bank spoke out against the release, mining and exchange cryptocurrency.
