Biologists found traces of toxic chemicals in popular sportswear

Toxic chemicals may be contained in the legins and other sports clothes, writes Eat This, not That!.

Scientists have found traces of polyfluoroalkyl substances in popular sportswear, also known as PFAS (chemicals that persist long, are destroyed forever and used in many everyday things). For example, 25 percent of the clothing studied contained a noticeable amount of organic fluorine.

According to biologists, toxic substances today can be found on the screens of mobile phones, guitar strings, non-stick fibroids, parchment paper and even food packaging. The US Environmental Protection Agency stated that the impact of certain elements could harm their health. Another study conducted by Toxic-Free Future has discovered toxic material in 72 percent of tested items, among which were mattress covers, blankets, raincoats and clothes.

Previously, the American startup byFusion offered to replace toxic for the atmosphere concrete blocks trash. Specialists have created a safer for ecology an analogue of the building materials found in the ocean of undetended waste.
