Australia Astronomers found an unknown phenomenon that generates a giant energy release three times per hour. This cosmic phenomenon is not like anything, with which scientists have come across earlier. This is reported in an article published in the Nature magazine.
Researchers believe that a mysterious source of flashes is a neutron star or white dwarf with a heavy duty magnetic field. This object may rotate, the emitting of the radiation stream, which crosses the surveillance line from the Earth and for a minute becomes the brightest radio source in the sky. The object itself is located at a distance of about four thousand light years from the ground.
Objects that change brightness, disappear and disappear from appearance, are called transients. Slow transition processes such as supernovae can appear and disappear within a few months. Fast transients include outbreaks generated by neutron stars and several milliseconds or seconds.
According to scientists, observations correspond to an astrophysical object called a magnetime with a super long period. This is a kind of slowly rotating neutron stars with an extremely strong magnetic field. It is likely that it will somehow transform magnetic energy into radio waves much more efficiently than astronomers observed before.
