US Ambassador to Moscow John Sullivan arrived at the Russian Foreign Ministry building to convey Washington’s answer to the Kremlin’s proposals for security guarantees in Europe. This is reported by the “Kommersant” edition.
Previously, sources in the White House reported that the US Presidential Administration Joe Bayiden would send Russia a written response to proposals for security guarantees on January 26. Representatives of the White House clarified that the responses will be set forth the areas in which the United States agrees to cooperate with Russia.
According to sources, these areas include: control over strategic offensive weapons, transparency in the relationship of the armed forces between countries, reducing the risks of escalation through the creation of communication channels between military departments and the issue of placement of large-range missile systems.
