Published Release of a free package for layout of documents SCRIBUS 1.5.8 , which provides funds for professional laying of printed materials, including flexible tools for generating PDF and support for working with separate color profiles, CMYK, Swear colors and ICC. The system is written using qt and comes under the GPLV2 + license. Ready binary assemblies Prepared for Linux (Appimage), MacOS and Windows.
The branch 1.5 is positioned as experimental and includes such as a new user interface based on QT5, a changed file format, full support for tables and advanced text processing tools. Release 1.5.5 is noted as well-tested and already stable for work on new documents. After the final stabilization and recognition of readiness for widespread introduction on the basis of the branch of 1.5 will be formed a stable release of SCRIBUS 1.6.0.
