WHO: rapid end of Covid-19 pandemic

Director of the European Regional Bureau of the World Health Organization (WHO) Hans Kejigus made that the end of the coronavirus pandemic may soon come, after an oomikron strain. He said this in an AFP interview, reports Le Figaro.

“It is likely that the region is approaching the end of the pandemic,” he said, adding that after Oomikron could be calm for several weeks or months due to the general immunity, which will be developed as a result of vaccination, transferred to infection, may also affect the seasonality.

At the same time, the WHO representative called for caution, as this does not mean that the virus will go into the endemic phase, which is characteristic of a certain locality.

“Endemic means that we can predict what happens, and this virus has not been surprised more than once,” said the representative of the organization.

Earlier in January, an infectious disease specialist, a vaccineologist from Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in North Carolina Catherine Paulong called cough, nasal congestion, runny nose and fatigue by the main symptoms of Omicron strain. According to the specialist, several signs may be enough to understand what the person has become infected.
