Issue SANE 1.1 with support for new models of scanners

Prepared Package Release Sane-BackenDS 1.1.1 , which includes a set of drivers, the Scanimage command line utility, a daemon for organizing a scanning over the SANED network and the library with the SANE-API implementation. Project code spreads under the license GPLv2.

Pack 1747 (last version 1652) models of scanners, of which 815 (737) have the status of full support of all functions, for 780 (766) the support level is estimated as good for 129 (126) – acceptable, and for 23 (23) – minimal. In addition for 462 (464), devices are not completely tested by the execution of drivers. Support for 470 (478) scanners remains unrealized.

Publication of version 1.1.1 followed for 1.0.32 marked the change model of the versions of versions. Instead of continuous mixed numbering for significant and intermediate issues (1.0.30, 1.0.31, 1.0.32), change the second digit in the version number (1.1.0, 1.2.0, 1.3.0, etc.) will now be made for Significant issues, and the third digit (1.1.2, 1.1.3) will change for corrective updates. Release 1.1.0 was missed due to an error identified in the late stage of formation.

In the new version, the following improvements are presented:

  • In the ScanImage utility, support is added to save scan results in PDF format.

  • In Backende ESCL Added support for the Canon Pixme TR4520 devices, Canon Pixme TR7500, Brother DCP-J772DW and EPSON ET-2750, as well as those supported by Canon PIXMA G4511, Canon Pixma TR4550, Canon Pixma TR4551 and Epson ET-6100 supported.
  • in the Beckend GeneSys due to the inclusion of a brighter highlight mode improved scan quality on Canon Lide 35/40/50/60 devices. Improved quality scanning in shades of gray on Canon Lide 110, 120, 210 and 220 scanners. The Plustek OptiCFilm 7200 V2 scanner is adjusted. Added processing of pressing buttons on the HP ScanJet G4010 scanner. Added the ability to run on embedded systems without supporting multithreading. The backend code is now supplied under a clean GPLV2 + license without additional exceptions that extend the use area.
