Energy Commissioner Cadri Simson estimated the amount of measures to support the residents of the European Union (EU) due to the increase in energy prices in more than 21 billion euros. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to her, over the past few months, gas prices in the world have reached historical maxima. She added that it influenced the tariffs in the EU.
“Actions taken by member countries to protect consumers amounted to more than 21 billion euros,” Simson said.
The European Commissioner added that these measures do not include tax losses. She also emphasized that the steps taken are not enough to complete the crisis permission.
