US officials appealed to Russian colleagues with a request not to publish Washington’s written response to the Offers of Moscow on security guarantees. It is reported by Edition The Washington Post (WP) with reference to its sources.
According to the American newspaper, the Americans asked Moscow Representatives to keep the document secret. The unnamed State Department employee at the same time admitted that the Russian authorities can do otherwise.
The Washington Post also note that the US answer will not correspond to the proposals of Russia. Nevertheless, in the White House, it is believed that the provision of a letter with which Russian President Vladimir Putin will be able to familiarize, “makes sense,” emphasizes the publication.
Earlier, the White House promised in writing to respond to the Offers of Russia for security guarantees next week. The press secretary of the US President Jen Psaka noted that Washington will state serious concerns about the actions of Moscow, as well as ideas, as countries could strengthen the “safety sense” of each other.
