CPC continues to prepare for 67th Expedition on ISS

Two crews are traditionally prepared for the international space station for the next expedition: the main and duplicate. Cosmonauts of Roscosmosos Oleg Artemieva, Denis Matveyeva and Sergey Korsakov became their colleagues for the detachment of Sergey Prokopyev, Dmitry Perezin and Anna Kikina.

It is expected that the main crew of the ICC-67 will go to orbit in March 2022, and duplicating – in September 2022. In the case of signing between Roskosmos and NASA, the Agreement on “Cross” flights to the ISS as part of the crew of the ISS-68 will be changed. Instead of Anna Kikina on the Soyuz MS-22 ship in the space expedition, Astronaut NASA Francisco Rubio will go to the space expedition, and the only cosmonaut girl in the Roskosmos detachment will enter the main crew of the Crew Dragon ship (USCV-5 flight), the launch of which is assumed in August 2022 .

At the moment, Anna Kikin is trained as part of the MKS-67 duplicating crew. As well as Dmitry Perezin, it has not yet has space flight experience. The crew commander Sergey Prokopiev has already worked for the ISS. His space expedition took place in 2018 and lasted almost 197 days, during which there were two exits in open space.

Now the MKS-67 duplicating crew, as well as the main, is preparing for the flight at the Soyuz MS ship simulators and the Russian segment of the International Space Station, working out typical, abnormal and emergency situations. In addition, in terms of their preparation – training related to the outdated space, the study of scientific experiments and much more.

For example, this week, Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitry Pestein tasting products for additional nutritional sets on board the ISS. Six containers with food and drinks, which each cosmonaut can take with them to a semi-annual expedition, are intended to diversify the typical menu. Before equipping sets, find out the individual preferences of the crew members.

In the list of food products 160-180 names. To evaluate each of them, take a few days at lunchtime. In general, the crew training schedule is very dense. Before each cosmonaut there is a lot of important tasks that must be executed.
