EC began to restore presence in Afghanistan

The European Union (EU) began to restore the minimum presence of foreign employees in its representation in Afghanistan. This was stated by the official representative of the foreign policy association of Peter Stano, reports RIA Novosti.

Diplomat stressed that the relevant decision was made against the background of the need to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the population and control of the humanitarian situation in the republic. “The minimum presence of the EU in Kabul should in no way be considered as recognition, and the actual authorities were also clear about this,” he clarified.

In early December, the EU stated that the presence of Missi in Kabul would largely depend on the security situation. So, in the Foreign Ministry of Foreign Ministry explained that the recognition of the Taliban movement (a terrorist organization prohibited in Russia) does not follow, but the question of the resumption of the operation of the diplomacy is studied by European institutions.
