Negotiations between the American and Russian Security Guarantees in Europe, which passed in Geneva were frank and substantive. So assessed the past meeting with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at a press conference, reports TASS.
The diplomat stressed that during the conversation, the parties came to a single opinion about the importance of continuing diplomatic work on security issues. “I believe that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lavrov now best understands our position, and we are the position of Russia. Today’s discussion in this sense was useful, and therefore we met,” he concluded.
Blinken noted that the United States and Russia are on the “clear path” to understand mutual concerns. According to him, at the meeting in Geneva, the parties agreed to continue contacts on security issues.
