Head of the Ministry of Economy, Vice-Chancellor Robert Habek recently on his office, and he may not have enough experience for more suspended statements on the topic “Northern Flood-2”, says the Department of National Energy Security Fund (FNEB) Alexey Grievach. In a conversation with “ribbon.ru” he appreciated the reluctance of a German official to pay compensation in the event of a gas pipeline disapproval.
Earlier, Habek stated that Germany should not pay compensation if the regulator decides that “Northern Stream-2” does not comply with the norms of the European Union and Germany.
“If the project is blocked under the controversial pretexts, it is obviously judicial proceedings follow. Some are already underway in parallel with the certification process. As a result, it may be decided to compensate for the loss of investors of the project,” explained Grievach.
According to him, it is now being prepared for the resumption of the certification of the gas pipeline in accordance with the plan, which the project operator and the regulator were outlined in November 2021. “There are no special reason to believe that the German government is going to give up pressure from the outside and block this process on political reasons,” the deputy head of FNEB.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of the Federal Earth Mecklenburg – the front Pomerania Manuel Shwezig declared the need for urgent certification of the Russian gas pipeline “Northern Stream-2”. According to her, the supply of Russian gas will help Germany to switch to the use of renewable energy sources.
